Carlos and Emily met back in 2017 when Carlos was assigned by USFQ to be Emily's Ecuabuddy, a very important program that helps international students make friends (or fiancés) with Ecuadorian students. We have managed almost 4 years of our long-distance relationship and have traveled within four countries together. Our love has grown over distance and time but has been there waiting for us before we even knew it. Carlos proposed on June 19th, 2021 in Otavalo, Ecuador. Emily of course said yes. 

We are so grateful that we were placed in each other's lives and are prepared to face the future together.
